Black Friday

For the first time in my life (2008) I actually went to a black friday sale. (5AM to get a Wii) At first I thought this wasn't too bad. A crowd outside the door waiting. It took me so long to figure out that there was a line going around a large parking lot. I go to the line and follow it to the end and find out that the end is close to where I started to look in the first place. DX My father and little sister did not want to stay. So home we went and back to bed. The worse part is that there were enough Wii systems that I could have gone at eight in the morning to get one rather than staying on a veeeeery long line in the cold. You see my sis got a call from a friend who went to the same place. I cried to her and begged her to buy me a Wii and that I'll pay her back. She couldn't do it. ): So no cheap Wii for me. But I'm glad I didn't stay because of all the crazy stories I have seen about black friday. If you think about it. Store owners are pretty stupid to allow such a thing.

Ideas to ensure a good black friday.
In other words... no one gets killed. ):

For the owners...

1. Have a line. Do not open doors to a crowd who is squashing the people in front of it to the glass of the doors.
2. Do not promote stupidness. No stupid contests!
3. Have a police dog to growl at people who try to cut in line.
4. Have big strong people on standby to help out anyone who fell to the ground, grab line cutters or break up a fight.
5. Let people in one at a time every 10 seconds.
6. If anyone steals, they get kicked out of the store.
7. Have police there.
8. No children allowed. Must be 16 or older.
9. Do not have an item on sale if there are only a few of them.
10. If you are going to open your doors early like 5AM then pass out special tickets to people who got on the line first. Lets say anyone who came before 4AM. These people can go home and come back later to get the items they want at the same price they were on, on black friday. Tickets expire when the day is out. If items they want are out of stock then they can buy them when they come in, at still the low black friday price as long as they come in later in the afternoon and tell the store what they wanted.

For the people...
1. Know what you want to buy.
2. Do not run if there are a lot of people.
3. If you're broke then don't bother coming.
4. Leave your kids at home. If you can't, then forget it.
5. Stay close to the sides of the crowd. DO NOT GO IN THE MIDDLE!
6. If coming early... bring hot drinks.
7. Park your car close to the line so a friend can easily go back and forth to bring you warm treats, blankets, etc.
